Isaiah 30:15 says, “In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” Well, I have to confess that sometimes I don’t feel so confident, and I sure don’t feel very strong. But the Bible also says that “when I am weak, then I am strong.” How? Because my strength comes from the Lord.
For me, that’s where quietness enters in. In my quietness, I can hear the still small voice of the Lord comforting my lack of confidence, my lack of strength. He encourages me in my weakness, quiets my fears, gives me hope when mine is lacking.
They say that prayer is a two-way conversation with the Lord. It means not just presenting your prayer requests to Him and that’s it. It also means being quiet and listening for His answer. And that’s where many of us fail. We fail to listen.
God speaks loudly in the stillness of our spirits. We just need to quiet ourselves so that we can hear.
We also need to quiet the world around us. Many of us are just too busy, our worlds too loud. We couldn’t hear God if He were speaking through a foghorn! We need to quiet things down around us as well.
Our confidence comes from the Lord, from trusting in Him and believing in His promises. We need to believe that He will do what He says He will do.
The more we do that, the stronger we will become.
Wishing you peace and serenity,
Remember God loves you and so do I,
